Nothing changes your world quite like having children
I have three boys – all gorgeous, all totally different – and clichéd as it sounds, it’s hard to remember what life was like before they arrived to turn our lives upside down.
Maybe this is your first baby, maybe you’ve got a full house at home. Either way, welcoming a brand new person into your world means life will never be the same again. And it’s awesome!
For me, it started on day one. Expecting my eldest son Lewis, I felt reasonably confident and well prepared…right up until reality swept in, accompanied by an epic labour and an emergency C-section! I fell hard and fast for his radiating warmth, his tiny fingers and his chubby little legs.
But I was certainly not prepared for the amount of (nine-tenths adorable, one-tenth poonami) chaos one tiny human can cause.
My middle son, Matthew, made his slightly more conventional arrival 19 months after his brother, and while we intuitively knew (roughly!) what to expect this time, it still caught me out how intense those first few weeks are.
The flourishing bond, the flood of emotions, and the abundance of love for this amazing tiny person that WE created. But this time with a toddler in tow – that’s a whole new level of chaos!
And then enter Daniel, our cheeky chappy with his chocolate eyes that melt your heart and his angelic curls that bely the mischief he manages!
Three really is the magic number for us.
I’m Helen
Wife and mummy. Daughter and sister. Auntie, niece, friend. Photographer.
I’m the proverbial apple that didn’t fall very far from the tree – Hertfordshire born and bred! I spent my whole childhood in Bishop’s Stortford – I even met my fitness-mad husband Phil at school – and we’ve lived around the border between Hertfordshire and Essex ever since.
Fast forward 15 years and as well as being proud parents to our three beautiful, cheeky boys, we also have two beautiful, even cheekier beagles.
I’m nuts about netball and bonkers about badminton. I can never decide if my favourite colour is royal purple or Tiffany blue, so our wedding flowers were Dendrobium orchids. And white chocolate is my kryptonite.
OUR MISSION
What’s your superpower?
I can freeze time.
Photography that speaks to the soul
I spent the first ten years of my working life crunching numbers in the city, and my photography was very much for fun. Times change!
As our family has grown, I’ve allowed my creative side to take the lead, trading my calculator for my camera, and I’ve never looked back.
I will never take for granted the privilege of working with tiny humans. Ever. I love interacting with children. I love capturing precious oh-so-fleeting details. And I love that moment when you first see the beautiful art I have created of your beautiful family. It’s humbling, it’s fulfilling, and it’s why I do what I do.
You know your baby better than anyone, so I’ll work with you to design a session to suit your ideas and your little one’s personality.
We’ll also make sure to capture images that are truly meaningful to you., whether that means including a beloved sibling or a favourite toy, or even creating an image to match one captured at your newborn session.
Either way, I will pour my heart and soul into creating a showstopping gallery for you.

The Studio
Welcome to your home away from home for a day
When I welcome you into my Hertfordshire studio, chaos gets left at the door. My gift to you is tranquillity. My countryside location is calm and peaceful, my studio warm and welcoming, and my sofas EXTRA comfy.
Of course I’ll capture stunning portraits of your beautiful family – that’s what I do – but I also want the experience itself to become a fond memory.
My space is filled with delights and treasures to create beautiful and bespoke images for you.
There are all sorts of fabrics, props, outfits and accents to ensure that I can give you the perfect set up, and I regularly add new bits and bobs to my collection, whether for a special request or just something that has caught my eye.
Most photographers work out of rooms with whitewashed walls and neutral colour palettes. You won’t find that here though. Set in the countryside between Takeley and Little Canfield on the Hertfordshire – Essex border, my studio is inspired by the surrounding scenery, by nature, and at least a little by Center Parcs!
So come in, make yourself at home, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (and a biscuit) on me.
Live for moments you can’t put into words
Words are powerful, but there’s a reason the turn of phrase is “a picture is worth 1,000 words.”
I don’t know about you, but as I get older my ability to conjure memories at will is definitely fading. It’s a concern! Photography is my lifeline to a time gone by, moments that define my family. A chance to enjoy happy times over and over again.
As my three giggle and grow, learning to walk and talk, to laugh and shout, it’s harder each day to remember what they were like when they were tiny. I love the children they are growing into, but I don’t want to forget the chunky cherubs they once were.
My camera ensures I REMEMBER
Sometimes it’s our wedding album, other days it’s photos of our boys as babies, or demonstrating their character quirks as they grow into boisterous boys. But rarely a day goes by that I don’t look back at one image or another.
I can (and do!) lose hours looking through images of my family, and I consider it an honour and a privilege to be trusted with capturing beautiful photographs for your family too.
A photograph is a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone
For my boys, I want them to have that visual story as they grow up, so I capture big milestones and the day-to-day minutiae alike.
I want to remember how tiny they once were when one day they tower over me. I want to catalogue all their little quirks and foibles, the tiny details that make them unique. And I’d also quite like to show them that their parents once had lush hair devoid of a single grey strand before they arrived!
But it also means that when things aren’t going to plan, they’ll be able to call on a picture to remind them how very, VERY loved they are.
