I thought I’d take a few moments today to talk about what I have to offer. It’s not just about being a technically good photographer, although obviously that’s a given, but you will get the best photographs when you are relaxed and comfortable. Did you know that you need no formal training to do newborn photography? As a professional who takes baby safety extremely seriously, I believe that the industry should be regulated. But just because it is not, that doesn’t stop me doing everything possible to ensure I stay up to date with the latest developments and follow best practice in every aspect of my work.
I am a proud member of a number of professional photography organisations, including the SWPP and the NPS. In this capacity I attend various forums and conventions with masterclasses, and also engage regularly with the membership community in between. I’m also first-aid qualified, and train with other newborn photographers every year, and not just locally in Essex.
In 2020 alone, I attended training with award-winning newborn photographers Tracey Willis, Elli Cassidy and Kelly Brown on subjects such as safe posing and adapting photography for babies with health conditions. I also trained extensively with newborn safety pioneer Maddy Rogers, and I have additional training already scheduled for 2021.

Welcome to my Essex newborn photography studio
For many of my families, my studio is the first place they have visited with their newborn since their birth. It’s absolutely essential to me that it is warm, comfortable and welcoming, a home from home where you can relax with your every need catered for.
My studio is nestled in the Takeley countryside, between Bishop’s Stortford and Great Dunmow on the border between Hertfordshire and Essex. And it is a newborn photographer’s dream. Sink into one of my sofas, enjoy a hot cup of coffee, tea or even hot chocolate, and sit back while I take care of you all.
I don’t mind admitting that some of the inspiration comes from Center Parcs – I’ve always found that when visiting there, it feels like a home from home (especially Elveden, since it’s the closest one to us here in Essex). That’s the feeling I want you to have when you come to see me.
It can be a daunting thought, venturing out of the house with a new baby to go to an Essex newborn photographer, but I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it a calm and enjoyable experience. Literally the only thing you need to bring with you is milk for your little one. Nappies, wipes, muslins – you name it, it’s covered.
Where do my clients come from?
Sometimes, if you really want something, it’s worth travelling for.
As an Essex newborn photographer, the majority of my clients come from Essex and neighbouring Hertfordshire. In particular, I get a lot of new parents visiting my studio from Bishop’s Stortford, Great Dunmow, Stansted and Braintree.
But we’re also lucky enough to live in the midst of beautiful countryside, and it is my privilege to welcome families from Takeley, Elsenham, Thaxted, Sawbridgeworth, Hatfield Heath, the Rodings and the surrounding villages too.
But although I am a newborn photographer in Essex, I do have clients who travel from further afield too. One of my recent mums even lives in Nottingham!
