Baby Leo – a full gallery of 30 stunning newborn photographs
Have you ever wondered what a full gallery of newborn photographs looks like? Scroll to the bottom to find out!
All my sessions are baby-led, which means we take our cues from how your little one is on the day. Some babies don’t open an eyelid the entire time they visit my studio just outside Bishop’s Stortford – in the industry we call these unicorn babies! More often, we take frequent breaks to feed, settle and cuddle your little one. Every baby is different, so we always let them guide these poses and experience they are most comfortable with.
I also work closely with you before the session to choose colours, props and styles that you love, so that all the images I shoot are ones you would be proud to display in your home.
Sometimes that’s all the colours or the rainbow, other times it’s a small but cohesive palette of tones.
Always, it’s carefully chosen to match your family’s style and as a result, no two galleries are the same.
Newborn photographs that are different, yet the same
What they do have in common is exceptional quality, great variety and an attention to detail that means they are absolutely perfect down to the tiniest fingernail and each individual eyelash. For every family I welcome into the studio, my goal is to deliver a cohesive set of images that will tell a story when printed in one of my gorgeous albums or displayed in print.
That means a range of heartwarming poses where baby is the sole focus, some carefully designed prop setups which offer the ‘wow factor’ and or course those all-important family photographs with you, the new parents. I always love to capture my newborn clients with any older siblings too.
First photographs, first memories
And after your big reveal, when you leave my studio just outside Dunmow, you will take with you a beautiful collection of newborn photographs which, each time you look at them, will bring back beautiful happy memories of this most precious time.
It’s a phrase we hear all the time as parents, usually accompanied by a plea to enjoy the newborn stage: “they’re not little for long.” But there’s a reason we hear it so often – it’s so true.
It seems only yesterday my eldest son was making his entrance, and he’s still only three, yet he’ll be starting school in a few short months. And my younger son – my baby – has only just turned two, but bears such little resemblance now to the tiny newborn I cradled.
I love them dearly as they are today, and I’m proud of the happy, confident little boys they have blossomed into (apparently displaying photographs of your children gives them confidence, so they really ought to be given the number of photos of them I have up on my walls!) but I’m also desperate to preserve my memories of how they were in those early days when we spent hours together as the world passed by. We never get that time back.
Newborn photographs write the first chapter
I’m always chatting to my clients about why their newborn photographs are so important, and one thing I hear a lot is that these images are not just for them as parents. I completely get it. They are the biography you are creating for your baby, one which they will enjoy looking at with you, over and over again, as they grow older.
We all like to know where we come from, and nothing quite matches these first family photographs and your newborn baby’s first professional portraits documenting their start in life.
Already, my boys love looking back at images of themselves as babies, marvelling at how their hair was all but non-existent (apparently I make bald babies!) and how tiny they are. And I know too that I love to talk with my mum about how I was as a baby, and see how that compares to my own little ones!
So have a look at the gallery below for an idea of what to expect if you book newborn photographs with me, and when you’re ready to secure your space in my diary, I’d love to hear from you.
